AV-257 Icoset is formulated to be added to the water tank when urethane is used, and to the grout tank when acrylamide or acrylic is used. It reduces shrinkage and improves the strength of the gel providing the resultant cured material with both improved hydrostatic pressure resistance and flexibility.

NOTE: AV-257 Icoset is ONLY ADDED TO THE GROUT SIDE of the mixing tanks – DO NOT ADD TO THE WATER SIDE of the mixing tanks.

The recommended formulation range for the sealing gel system, for sewer line joint sealing is:

AV-100 CHEMICAL GROUT (ACRYLAMIDE)

NOTE: Up to 5 gallons maximum of AV-257 in lieu of 5 gallons of water in a 30 gallon tank can be used for AV-100 Acrylamide. The higher the quantities of AV-257 (5 gal. vs. 1 gal.) will provide higher tensile and compressive strength to the gel.

After water and grout are added to the tank, AV-257 Icoset is added and mixed thoroughly. The mixture is agitated as needed. The total mix, including AV-257, should equal 30 gallons for the above gel system.

AV-118 DURIFLEX (ACRYLIC)

NOTE: Up to 3 gallons maximum of AV-257 in lieu of 3 gallons of water in a 30 gallon tank can be used for AV-118 Duriflex. The higher the quantities of AV-257 (3 gal. vs. 1 gal.) will provide higher tensile and compressive strength to the gel.

After water and grout are added to the tank, AV-257 Icoset is added and mixed thoroughly. The mixture is agitated as needed. The total mix, including AV-257, should equal 30 gallons for the above gel system.

Water Test:
Take a small amount of water from the tank to which the AV-257 is to be added. Add a few drops of AV-257 to this test sample. The AV-257 should disperse readily. If precipitation occurs, drain the tank and retest. Repeat as necessary until dispersion occurs. Care must be taken to be sure that the pH of the water in the tank is from 5 to 9.

AV-257 must be protected from freezing as indicated on the product container. Freezing may cause irreversible precipitation. Formulated AV-257 should not be allowed to stand in application equipment, e.g. hoses, for extended periods of time but rather should be purged after use. All equipment in contact with this material is easily cleaned with water. AV-257 is an aqueous, non-flammable material and is shipped as a non-hazardous material.

AV-257 is not expected to present any significant health hazards during normal industrial handling. Primary eye and skin irritation studies conducted using albino rabbits indicate that AV-257 is not a primary eye irritant according to the definitions of the Federal Hazardous Substances Labeling Act. Only minimal, transient ocular irritation has been noted. Short-term skin contact with AV-257 should not produce dermal irritation. Prolonged or repeated skin contact, however, may result in mild irritation and should be avoided. The acute oral toxicity of AV-257 is considered low: oral LD50 (rat) is greater than five grams per kilogram.

Immediately flush eyes with water for 15 minutes. Get immediate medical attention.

Wash affected area with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing.

Remove to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, get medical attention.

Drink 2 glasses of water. Call a physician

Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious or convulsing person.
